Several scientific studies confirm that green coffee bean extract helps to lose weight.

In a randomized controlled trial conducted in humans over 12 weeks, the group that consumed coffee enriched with green coffee extract lost 5.4 kg, while the group that drank only coffee lost 1.7 kg.

In addition, a reduction in the percentage of body fat was also observed: 3.6% less fat in the group that consumed green coffee and 0.7% less in the other group.

In conclusion, more research is still needed to confirm that green coffee bean extract really contributes to weight loss.

What is the recommended daily dose?

Before taking any supplement, you should carefully read the package label and make sure you don't take more than the recommended amount. 

Normally, it is recommended to take a dose half an hour before each meal, but there is no specific figure that determines the exact amount of green coffee bean extract.

No study determines a precise dose to obtain the expected results.

However, try to take it with caution, since excessive consumption of green coffee can have several side effects.

For example, the caffeine contained in green coffee can cause anxiety, tremors, and accelerated heart rate if consumed in excess.

On the other hand, chlorogenic acid can have a laxative effect and cause diarrhea.

As for the ingestion of green coffee bean extract by pregnant or lactating women, there is still no data available.

Children should avoid its consumption.

Other benefits of green coffee bean extract

It is up to you to decide whether or not to take green coffee bean extract for weight loss. It is a natural supplement, yes, but there is no better method to lose weight than a healthy and balanced diet combined with some regular exercise. 

Chlorogenic acid is the main compound of green coffee beans responsible for weight loss however, it gets entirely destroyed when the beans are roasted. Therefore, you can't expect regular coffee to have the same effect as green coffee bean extract. 

As we mentioned earlier, no miraculous supplement will shed your extra pounds by itself unless you put your part of the job and move those glutes in the gym. Every weight-loss process involves more than just taking the "magic pill" and requires discipline, a balanced diet, and regular workouts. 

Nevertheless, green coffee bean extract can be an excellent companion on your way to a healthy, strong, and fit body.
